2010 event put back
The date of our 2010 Film Festival, Racing Lotus, has been put back. It is now pencilled in to take place on October 2nd and 3rd at Eynsham Hall in Oxfordshire, the venue for our two previous festivals.
The reason for the postponement is that Michael Oliver, one of the organisers of the event, is working on a contract in London at present and unable to commit the time and energy required to organise such a large-scale event.
Additionally, we were uncertain about certain aspects of the venue we had chosen instead of Eynsham Hall (which we were not able to book when we had initially enquired about our desired dates). Instead of organise an event and not be 100% happy, we decided to wait until we could get the venue we really wanted and know our customers really like...
We will be showing rare archive footage of Lotus racing cars and drivers in action, themed around three anniversaries that we are celebrating:
- 40 years since the great Jochen Rindt won the Formula 1 World Championship
- 40 years since the introduction of the Lotus 72
- 50 years of Lotus 18 victories
We will once again be inviting personalities associated with the anniversaries we are celebrating and anticipate that former Team Lotus chief mechanic and racing manager Dick Scammell, 1970 Formula 1 team driver John Miles and long-time Team Lotus chief mechanic Bob Dance will still be able attend on the revised dates, with more guests to be added.
We will shortly be putting tickets on sale - please keep checking back as the full event website will be going 'live' soon. In the meantime, if you would like to register your interest in receiving details of the event, please email us at mail@legendsfilmfestivals.com, call 01993 200331 or write to Legends Film Festivals at 15 Meadow View, Witney, Oxfordshire, OX28 3TY.
